Denton County Women's Education Network, Inc. (WEN) is a charitable, educational non-profit 501(c)(3) Texas corporation, which promotes education and equity for all women and girls. WEN supports: Expanding your Horizons--Over 450 girls, parents, and teachers attended the 2006 EYH from Argyle, Aubrey, Frisco, Denton, Flower Mound, Highland Village, Lewisville, Ponder, Sanger, and The Colony. Some comments were: "It was not only fun, but a fantastic learning experience." "It helped me consider going after a career in science." "Enjoyed the hands-on experience." "I love this program; please continue it." Look at the sessions offered at EYH. The AAUW Transitions Conference for women reentering college or graduate school.. Scholarships at UNT and TWU for re-entry women seeking a bachelor's degree. Teachers--WEN contributes to scholarships for middle school teachers to attend training conferences in math and science. AAUW Educational Foundation--Get information about scholarships given to women in higher education through the American Association of University Women at www.aauw.org. Area Public Libraries--WEN contributes money to local libraries to buy books about women leaders in science, mathematics, and technology.
